NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!!
NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!!
I began my own personal fitness journey in 2015. As a survivor of childhood victimization and domestic abuse, fitness became my outlet.
In 2018, I launched Glenna Maureen, LLC personal training. I witnessed my own results and transformation from hard work and dedication, and I wanted to share that with as many other people as I could. "If I can do it, so can you". From 1:1 personal training, small to large group training, outdoor workouts, corporate/non-profit, and now live monthly challenges, I have served to help others transform their body, minds and now spirits for holistic transformation and wellness. The Mind, Body and Spirit trilogy came to me when I realized I was physically fit, but not well.
About one year ago, I realized that I mastered my physical fitness, and somehow neglected my mental and spiritual. Though I was physically fit, I had neglected (for many years) the mental/emotional trauma caused by childhood obesity, eating disorders, body shaming and more, that impacted my wellness. As a result, I have shifted my training to be rooted in the focus of Mind, Body, Spirit. Holistic wellness is impossible without the three pillars of Mind, Body and Spirit being in alignment. My intention is to support those who work with me to learn new life-long, sustainable habits that will support the foundation of their overall wellness, while also unlearning unhealthy habits and patterns that have prevented them from being well.
"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you are right"
- Henry Ford
The mind is the strongest "muscle" in your body. Fitness is focusing on your physical appearance - your weight, what size clothes you wear, how toned and developed your muscles are, etc. Regardless of how you look physically, it is your mind that determines how you feel about yourself. Wellness is tapping into your mindset, understanding that our minds determine every decision and choice that we make - what we eat, whether or not we work out, how we feel about ourselves...when things get hard or challenging, it is your mind that will determine whether or not you quit, or keep pushing.
I challenge clients to tap into their mindsets.
What are your wellness goals, and why?
What are the things that have prevented you from reaching your wellness goals in the past?
When you feel like not showing up, or giving up, what is your strategy to stay disciplined?
What does accountability look like to you?
Intentionally focusing on training, and incorporating, your mindset as part of your foundation, allows for healthy habits to not just be formed, but sustained. The same voice that says"I give up" is the same voice that can be trained to say "keep pushing". These habits become transferable into all areas of your life: fitness, personal relationships, work, etc.. Your mind is the guiding light that determines how you finish anything, while ultimately creating space and opportunity for lifelong and generational wellness.
"Wellness is an outfit that looks different on everyBODY"
We all have different physical wellness goals.
Some people want to lose weight.
Some people want to gain weight.
Some people want to build muscle.
Some people want to increase their endurance and speed.
No matter what your physical wellness goals are, physical exercise is essential to your wellness. Regular exercise and physical activity promotes strong muscles and bones, and improves your respiratory, cardiovascular and overall health.
I challenge clients to adopt the mindset of
"working out because you love your body, not because you hate it"
Healthy bodies include:
What are realistic and sustainable habits that you can make to reach your wellness goals?
Intentionally focusing on physical activity as part of your foundation is essential to your wellness. I work with a wide spectrum of clients, who are all at different places in their health journey - From learning the basics of physical training (cardio, weight training), to high intensity HIIT and endurance workouts. No matter what the process, you can't skip steps. I work to meet clients where they are, supporting their individual progress and evolution, to ultimately get them to where they want to be.
"Spiritual health is the path to inner peace regardless of the turmoil around you"- Unknown
Spiritual wellbeing relates to our sense of life-meaning and purpose. It acknowledges our search for deeper meaning in our life. When we're spiritually healthy, we feel more connected to not only a higher power, but to those around us. We have more clarity when it comes to making everyday choices, and our actions become more consistent with our beliefs and values.
I challenge clients to reflect on what makes their foundation (their beliefs, values, priorities, principals, routines, etc) and how does that guide the decisions and actions that they make in life.
Spiritual wellness has the power and capability to make our decisions and choices easier, ground us during periods of change and give us the resiliency to survive with grace and inner peace in the face of adversity.
